Remembrance Day poem 1:
“Black and White”

You are unknown to me
And I am unknown to you
Yet you made the final sacrifice
For that, I thank you

Sometimes I stop and think
To slip into your shoes
But I know I’m too afraid to follow
The path you were able to bravely choose

I can only imagine what it’s like
To live in black and white
Six feet under now
Beneath a sea of green and red

With hope, your deaths won’t be in vain
For there is peace
Underneath all the pain

This is something I had to do for class. The assignment was to respond to the rather famous poem "In Flanders Fields" by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.

We did this project on Veteran's Day or, as know in Canada, Remebrance Day. Personally, I like Remembrance Day more. :)

I'm not that proud of how this poem came out, though. I feel I could have done better... :|
